1. About us
These terms govern your use of the Trade Modern website (trademodern.co.uk) and the booking and service agreement between you and Trade Modern Ltd ("Trade Modern", "we", "us"). By booking a service, you agree to these terms.
2. Booking and deposit
- Bookings are confirmed once a deposit payment is successfully authorised via Stripe.
- The deposit amount equals the hourly rate for your selected service, time band, and date.
- Deposits are authorised only — funds are not captured until the job is confirmed by our team.
- If we cannot fulfil your booking, the authorisation will be released in full.
- Preferred time slots are not guaranteed; our team will call to confirm your engineer's arrival window.
3. Pricing
- All prices shown are hourly rates and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
- Rates vary by service, time of day (day / evening / night), and whether the date is a weekday, weekend, or bank holiday.
- A final quotation will be agreed with you before any work begins.
- Additional parts and materials are charged separately and will be quoted in advance.
4. Cancellation and rescheduling
- You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment at no charge; the deposit authorisation will be released.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment may result in the deposit being captured as a cancellation fee.
- Emergency bookings (same-day) are non-refundable once an engineer has been dispatched.
5. Workmanship guarantee
All labour carried out by Trade Modern engineers is covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee. This does not cover parts supplied by the customer, pre-existing faults, or damage caused by misuse. To make a claim, contact us within the guarantee period at support@trademodern.co.uk.
6. Gas Safe compliance
All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. You may verify any engineer's registration at gassaferegister.co.uk. Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) are issued digitally on the day of inspection.
7. Liability
- Trade Modern's liability is limited to the cost of the work carried out.
- We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, damage caused by third parties, or consequential losses.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.
8. Website use
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not attempt to disrupt, misuse, or reverse-engineer any part of the website or booking system.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
